Glyn Abbey Golf Club's Head Golf Professional is Darren Griffiths, son of the famous snooker player, Terry. Darren was previously Head Teaching Professional at Parc Golf Club in Cardiff before joining Glyn Abbey in April 2003.

In addition to an excellent playing record Darren has been awarded level 3 coaching certificate and is Class AA PGA professional. He has developed a first class reputation as a golf coach, gaining 16 years experience in teaching golfers of all abilities, from beginners to County players and european tour stars.GASP video coaching(as used by Sky Sports) is available for long and short game sessions.

Darren's specialities are the short game and putting and he is also qualified in both INNER CADDY (set up by the world renown coach Denis Pugh) and NLP golf psychology to deal with your inner demons! Both of which will help you dramatically reduce your handicap.

Glyn Abbey Golf Club is an approved Golf Foundation starter center and also hosts Carmarthenshire Junior County Coaching run by Darren. Glyn Abbey is also a founder member of the Carmarthenshire Junior Golf Development Group.

Golf lessons are available 6 days a week, however it is essential to book in advance. During the summer months Darren also conducts golf schools for people of all abilities. These schools combine driving range and short game coaching with on course lessons and are available for 2 day or 4 day courses.
